Years ago before we had an Eid Stamp and a reputation for dangerous things, Muslims in America had a tiny window of choices when it came to celebratory knickknacks for our holidays as did other faiths in America. We had to make our own Eid cards or stick to the random boring selection of blank greeting cards at our local store. We had to be discreet about our holiday because no one frankly cared about our business.

Fastforward to 2011 and--BAM--Muslims are being recognized more and more globally as an important consumer. Let's hope the next decade or two will make us even more included.

As an amateur photographer, I regularly order prints, cards, etc online, and I am extremely impressed by the product Minted has produced for their Muslim consumer. Preparing Poultry Egyptian Style

My mother never taught me how to cook, but she taught me one lesson about the kitchen: always properly prepare your poultry before cooking.

1) Take off the skin from your bird (optional). Paper towels seem to helps with the grip issue.
2) Sprinkle chicken with salt, vinegar and flour. Rub well
3) Rinse.

Begin the marinade.

Basic Egyptian recipe: minced onion, salt, pepper and some lemon juice. I like to add a splash of olive oil for good measure.

And then grill, boil or bake. It will be the best chicken you've ever had. I promise.
