Want to Help Gaza? Here's How.

Over at MuslimMatters, the staff have complied an excellent 60-minute plan to help Gaza. The action plan is doable and very easy! I've been granted permission to take some points for this post, but please refer to the original post here.

1) MAKE Du’a | 10 minutes | REPEAT Everyday
  • Print the duaa here.
2) Donate
3) Call Gaza
  • Call any random number in Gaza, and tell them that you are calling from North America (or wherever you are), make Duaa for them and tell them all their brothers and sisters around the world are with them; this will give them moral support and courage ! How to call? > Very simple!
  • Dial any of these number and replace the last 4 digits by any random ones, try 4 or 5 times and you’ll reach a family insha’Allah ! Even if you don’t speak Arabic, talk to them with very slow and simple English
    (011)9728284-XXXX (011)9728282-XXXX (011)9728255-XXXX
4) Sign CAIR petition here.

For the rest of the plan, go here.

As Br. Amad of MuslimMatters says, "please check all pessimism and hopelessness at the gate."

I agree! It's time for action.

If you care about humanity, then please act NOW.

P.S: Here is a printable version of the action plan. Print and distribute.

I like the positive approach that you offer here.It is a shame that people choose to bring their cynicism here. Insha'Allah we will continue to speak out against injustice.

We have to remain positive at all times. For a believer, pain and suffering is only part of the trials of the world, and he/she accepts them and thanks Allah for washing his/her sins.

Pessimism is from shaytan. Allah only gives us optimism. The Israeli murderers want us to lose hope, but we will never let them be victorious in this mission.

I urge everyone to move beyond bemoaning the unfortunate situation to tangible actions. Let's walk the talk!

This is a very practical plan that without a doubt transports a person from state of hopelessness to one where one feels a sense of ability to contribute and make a difference. In particular action no 3. There is no benefit in sitting idle thinking oh the Egypt government should do this and Saudi should do that.

As a British Muslim of Kashmiri descent, I have no link with Gaza, other then the fact I am Insaan (Human) and a Muslmaan (Muslim), and this is enough for me to feel their pain.

I don't know if you read her blog, but I thought of you when I read this post since you have the part about calling a random number there in support. Apparently that may not work (although in theory was a good idea)...

Honestly Organic ... you are really awesome for posting this and putting it to the forefront of our minds...you'd never know anything was going on based on our so-called media. I loved every single one of these suggestions and forwarded this to many of my friends ... a great big thank you for this.

I read the following poem today on another blog and thought I would share. Take care.

The Night There

"The night there is pitch black...and roses are fewer.
The road will fork even more than before. The valley will split open
and the slope will collapse on us. The wound opens wide. Relatives flee.
Victims kill each other to erase their victims' sight and find relief.
We'll know more than we knew before. One abyss will lead to another.
When we embrace an idea worshipped by tribes and branded on their vanishing bodies,
we'll witness emperors engraving their names on grains of wheat to show their power.
Aren't we changed? Men follow the teachings of the sword
and spill blood. Let the sand pile up..."

Poem from the book "Unfortunately, It Was Paradise" by Mahmoud Darwish.
